is this pretty much stock?? Man, i REALLY think these IROs are some of the best looking stock bikes out there. very classy.
i was contemplating getting one when the price was higher, but instead went with doing a custom build. if only i knew two months later the price was dropped to 400 for the stock build....oh well, enjoy your IRO! http://lh3.ggpht.com/_XHnCj4GtmZs/TJ...4/DSC_6879.JPG |
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post something like this in here, but if anyone is interested in a 53cm IRO Mark V complete with a lot of upgraded components, you may want to check out my Mark V that I just put up on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-IRO-Mark-V-...item19bf9ba890 Feel free to reply or PM me if you have any questions or if you are interested. Sorry to hijack the thread, I've absolutely loved my Mark V but just looking to change things up and do my first build.

Mark V came in today!
So my Mark V single speed arrived today. I noticed when I assembled the bike and hopped on, the spokes were a little loose and were making some popping noises! So I did a quarter turn on all the spokes and tried riding again... hah I repeated this process about 4 times and it seems pretty good now. Took it for a quick test spin probably around 2-3 miles and I was trying to ride hard.... It's my first single speed (aside from BMX). I am very pleased with the bike, the only thing I don't really like about the stock components, which is probably just preference, is the bar tape. It's not very comfortable or soft (does it just have to break in?). Here are some pictures...

Sorry I haven't visited in a while. That shot on the porch is stock except for my post and saddle. I paid for the Nitto bullhorns and the front brake and MKS pedals, so it was like 540 plus shipping which to SF was around sixty, so total out the door was 600 give or take a couple dollars. Since then I swapped stem and put on the Riv 28 gumwalls.

I eventually plan on getting a Surly Crosscheck but could I replace the Mark V fork with a Crosscheck fork to solve the front tire width restriction? Would there be any issues I would need to be aware of?

did you overnight that stem from Japan?

I like it.. Stem and all. It's good to see someone still have fun with bike builds rather than copy the same old boring stuff.

Subtract $25 for each time the seller used the word "fixie". I counted 7 times, including the title. Looks pretty beat up, worn out and cobbled up to me.

Can someone take a picture of their Mark V Pro seat stay bridge?
My frame is supposed to be a MVP (Tony even "confirmed.") but it's drilled for a rear brake, idk. MVP aren't drilled for a rear brake right? |
