I've been looking into fixed gear bicycles and i have notice that a few have like a thick welding (Bridgestone a few posts up) or something on the top tube. Can someone explain what it is to me or is it just for looks?

There's almost nothing about that bike that isn't hideous.

Class, class, class, class and class. Where do I start? 650b tires, stitched grips, brazed-on Mafac brakes, hammered fenders, dynamo lighting, brazed-on front rack+bag, matching pump, Brooks flyer, TA Pro cranks, Phil hubs.

sorry i just dont get it... looks fussy. way too much stuff going on. It's got every freakin accessory possible, kinda reminds me of when someone buys all that crap out of a JC whitney catalog to put on their car. Albeit, maybe the parts are nice, but still... have some restraint. Might as well puts some mirrors and gears on it too.
