1) You need 2 brakes, both front and rear.

2) Don't worry about the anodizing, the brakes will work.

3) Changing from fixed to free won't help your knees unless you also gear down.

4) All you need to do is flip your wheel and install a single speed freewheel.

Hello,
I tried searching, but was unfortunately unsuccessful! What are the largest tires the Hour can fit?

I live in Minneapolis, so I'd be happy with the 23s (or 25s) they'd come with during the warm months, but would like to use my 30 knobbies in the winter.

Has anyone done similar?

Thanks,
Nathan

if you have bad knees you need to gear down. It doesn't matter if you have strong legs, big legs. the pressure on your knees will hurt sooner or later.

I noticed something weird.. I was looking at bikes on BD, and it appears that my Windsor came with the chainwheel and seat off the Motobecane Track, and possibly the handlebars. Did this happen with anyone else?
Here's the stock MB Track

And here's the stock Windsor

I believe they come from the same factory. At least they're the same frame.

BD is also notorious for their poor quality control, though I doubt there is much of a difference in quality, if any, in the parts you received compared to the pictured stock parts on The Hour.

Don't worry, if you think you got the motobecane handlebars, because I think they are better anyway. I've seen both in person, but of course that is preference.

So i just got my Hour in today, built it up and its ready to go. I have a few questions though...what the hell are these for

and is there a way to cut the brake wires shorter so that i can put them on the front wheel instead of that back wheel?

I'm thinking that's to put on the inside of the reflector clamps.

They are under a clear coat. I'm in the process of painting my frame matte black.

shoot, okay well I ordered Black and it says matte or shiny no choice. I want the matte but in the end I really don't mind cause I want to take off the decals.

Since there's coating over it, which matte black paint do you recommend? Can I just buy this from say HomeDepot and spray it on myself then add a coating layer or should I take it to a professional place? Will airbrushing it work?

I just painted mine matte black. I sanded it down, used Krylon primer and paint, and let it sit for a week or so in a warmish place. It came out looking nice too.

Motobecane Track comes in gloss black. He wants matte. Also, it ran me about $10. Not including the sander.
