Average lurker, and first post because today I got my own The Hour.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Got the frame from an acquaintance at the local bike coop I participate in for 50 and added the Eighthinch wheelset, and Origin8 crank/bars. Mind the seat, it is just temporary.

I'm sure most probably won't be too keen on the wacky color choices, but that's what we had lying around and I personally think it turned out pretty jazzy - even if my masculinity (what little I have) is at stake.
I saved the cranks from the trash, as they were previously cross-threaded from their last removal. Luckily there's plenty of good threads left, though it's a bit tricky to get a crank puller on straight (just requires patience). I put a good half-hour babying the bad threads back to life.

This is my first fixie. I'm definitely considering adding a rear brake though maybe I'll grow some balls with experience as I get used to the new riding thought processes.

^^ Good job putting together a good working bike using existing parts to save money. If your total cost is under $100 you are eligible to post in my under $100 thread. Don't apologize for the colors, since you were using existing parts. They look a lot better than many other expensive builds I've seen on this forum. Unless you are using a freewheel, you don't need a rear brake, since you have a front.

Though I got the wheelset from a friend here in town, she hadn't ever used them and didn't need the tires so I felt bad offering her much less than they cost new (I was thinking of getting some Tessas anyway). I think my total is more like 150 (I'm going to make a monetary donation to the coop soon for the parts).

I do plan on getting a freewheel in the not-so-distant future.

I must say, it's nice to ride (and lift/move) something tons lighter than my cheap bottom-of-the-barrel Centurion.

First of all, the fork on the Clockwork is cro-mo. Secondly, I highly doubt it's got a 50mm rake.

Negative. Fork rake is 43mm, and it's CrMo. How long have you gone without getting that head injury looked into?

I need some clarification, I am 5'10 with an inseam of about 31". Would the 54 be perfect or would the 56 be a better fit?
So after I decide on which size I am going to get, how would I go about making the rear brakes into the front brakes?

I ended up ordering the 54cm, I figured smaller is better than bigger. It's not like I can "grow" into them, but I can however make my saddle higher, flip the handles etc.
