Okay, I can't keep this straight. are the sizes for the Hour on BD c-c or c-t?
I'm pretty new to the whole road bike sizing and such. I'm 6'0, unsure of my inseam but went to my LBS and I guess the 58 fit me well. But if it's c-t should I go for the 61?

I think the Moto Messenger were listed c-t, but I've heard many different things...

hey all. just got my 54cm grey Hour today. i don't really have any complaints other than the fact that it came with a 15t cog instead of 16t (it'll be a bit much for city riding with the 48t chainring. i'm gonna get a 17t soon). it's totally what i expected for 300 though. i greased/tightened everything up and went for a 30 mile ride. the seat isn't the best, but it'll do. anyways, happy riding to everyone. hope you're all pleased with this new batch of windsors.

More has to be considered than standover & seat tube height. For instance, if I get a Panasonic frame in size 60cm the top tube will be 56cm which is kinda short for me. So I would opt for another brand where the measurements are more square.

Some manufacturers measure c-t, and some c-c while some frames have more seat tube extending beyond the top tube. In addition, a road bike frame measurement will be slightly different from a track bike measurement because most track frames have higher bottom brackets.

BD bikes are pretty close to square (top tube measurement is very close to seat tube measurement) so I would suggest you measure your inseam, think of how you plan on riding & what you think will be most Comfortable and choose a frame size accordingly.

so my 54 cm Windsor Hour in white came today

Some notes:

My 54 cm was threadless.

The white pearl looks pretty darn nice. No knicks and the box was in pretty good condition when i received it.

The 54cm does not have toe overlap! In fact with the clips adjusted as far back as possible, there is about a 3cm gap between the clips and the tire when they are positioned closest together. Based on this and also what i've heard from other 52cm owners in this thread, I would assume that stock 52cm's also do not have toe overlap.

That being said, it's obvious the Windsor definitely has a more lax geo than my Kilo TT in 50 cm. In fact, with a 73 ST/72.5 HT fuji track specs, not BD geo specs), it appears to be slightly more lax than my 54 cm Dawes SST (74 ST/72 HT). The stock rake on the Hour's fork is also much more than the stock Kilo's. The steep rake of the Kilo's forks (37.5 - 28 depending on size) are probably the biggest factors of toe overlap in the Kilo TTs smaller sizes. (stock Hour/Fuji Track rakes are 45-35, depending on size). (Of course there are other factors such as crank size and HT angle and TT length)

The bike is about the same weight as my 54 cm Dawes SST (which only has one brake at the moment, the windsor is stock and doesn't have any right now.) My 50cm Kilo TT was MUCH lighter, even with a brooks B17 on it.

The stock hour saddle sucks. I actually love the stock saddle on the SST.

I haven't given it a ride yet because i'm waiting on some parts and I want to sell the stock wheels/tires as brand new take offs. Being that the geo is similar to the SST, i'm sure I will love it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have ordered an Hour over the SST because of the lack of brake cable guides and because I like my hour's white over the sst's blue. the bikes are very similar.

Threaded or threadless will depend on the fork you buy. I converted mine from a 1" threaded to a 1" threadless. All you need is a new fork, headset, and a threadless stem all in 1" of course.

Just got my matte gray hour. Does anybody know how I get my letters all shadowed like this without the white border or is this a different year model? I think this looks much cleaner.

I know, I just can't get away from these kids. Anyway, I changed the color on my order so it'll be another month or so. Don't ask what frame I bought

I'll start an, "I Love My ________ " thread afterwards. I'd like to think this thread helped some folks out, and for that I'm pleased.

It'll be back up on ebay as soon as I build up the new frame.

I just got my Hour in. It's a 54 in white. I'd like to get an Selle Italia seat. I think it'd look good in white. I had some brakes installed, and am very happy with them. I'm also going to look into getting an Aerospoke wheel for the front. Overall VERY happy with it!

So mine should be here tomorrow, was just wondering if the ones people recently got had the 15t cog? Also i realized that the Fuji track comes with a 15t so maybe thats why they were or still are coming with it. Cause as we all know Windsor the hour = Fuji track.

Well i guess I'll get a 17t sooner rather than later. And plastic, I mean I know you're not being literal but that's not very encouraging, at least I was planning on swapping all the components out anyway, haha.

My experience is this:

I was looking to get back into FG after some time away. I come from the era of getting frames from other bikers, not stores & definitely no internet. Went to the closest LBS to my office & found the Fuji Track 2008 among other bikes. Test rode the Fuji & was impressed. Went back with $440 cash looking to buy the 58cm priced at $459+tax only to hear, "What?!, It's bike season. I can't do nothin' on the price. Plus you need a 61".

Found the Windsor Hour for $299 shipped & after viewing pics noticed it was essentially the Fuji Track. Purchased. Then it all started coming back to me. See, I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing getting back on a fixed gear after years (about 10) had gone by.

Now I'm looking for a piece of wall-art I can also ride. I just purchased a new frame in the hope of dispelling a lot of rumors perpetuated mainly by this site, the review coming soon.

Point? Get the Windsor Hour if you like it & know your size. Some of you will be content with it the way it is, some of you will want to upgrade parts & eventually build an exceptional bike. Either way, the Hour is the best bang for your buck out of the gate IMHO (in my honest opinion). Let the haters hate, see my sig for an explanation of their hate.

why wouldn't you just look at the geometries?

also, stop talking about bikes.

bs, you didn't notice it was the fuji track just by looking at pics. Did you see that it had a top tube and seat tube, and downtube and thought "the fuji track has a ht, st, and dt! they must be the same."

Just like you determined the Scattante Windy City bikes were the same as the Windsor Hour frame, because they had the same brake bridge, right?

Come back & let us know how you like the bike after riding it for some time.

I didn't plan on swapping anything at first (maybe except the bars) but now all I have left is the BB, frameset & pedals.
