First post, just got my Hour today.. My first factory FG/SS, I need a new commuter/bar hopper as my old Panasonic frame was bent by a car and I had to sell my last bike to move. I got a 61cm in matte black, its sitting here in my office in the box still.. can't wait to ride it.

Yeah, oddly enough the stock saddle seems to be comfortable to me but I am sure it won't last. I want straight bars or bullhorns for city riding but I am going to use road bars for fitness riding. The pedals it comes with straight up suck IMO so they are going to get an upgrade as well.

Front brake, yes. Here is what I have, and a lot of others... https://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ls&ProdID=1569
Decent parts, it will get the job done...

Pedals, yes. You will need to decide what suites you best though. The stock pedals/clips/straps are pretty bad.

Try some bullhorns...imo they are the most comfortable for longer rides. Although lately I have been itching for some drops.

I enjoy these sites when browsing for parts...

What are the biggest size tires people have gotten onto the Hour? I'm currently running Specialized All-Conditions, 25c, but I'm looking for bigger tires with a more significant tread.

Currently have 28c Panaracer Pasela Tourguards...but when researching the tires before I bought them, I learned that they run around a size smaller. Said to be 24-25ish. I enjoy the tires, for ~$20 you can't go wrong.

There is room for bigger...

Yeah I want to get some 28s. I love this bike but am still waiting on my front brake so I can comfortably go faster in traffic. I put some risers on it, need to get a rack too and it will be a perfect grocery getter

That's exactly what I was thinking about when I paid for and installed the wheel on my $300 bike. You're one clever fellow! =P

Are the decals just stickers that I can remove? Or are they painted/clearcoated over?

anyone know if the size 43 runs on 650s? geometry is kinda jacked, and I don't see if running 700's on such a small frame would work.

looking for a small bike for the gf, her standover is like 29 inches. length from center of bb to bottom of seatpost clamp on her mountain bike is ~51 cm or so. thinking maybe i can go with a 47... but she's only like 5'1" so the 43 is probably the best choice (or 44 kilo)

Well I have been riding the bike for a little over a week now. Wheels are still true, everything seems to be holding together. Stock pedals are absolute crap and I have a hell of a time getting into the cips when in motion, I think Sylvan or other platforms with clips would be WAY better. No real complaints though, love this bike.

after almost a year of riding with a front brake off my old garbage road bike, i decided to get the tektro brake off bike island. i figured it might be good to have a brake that actually has the power to stop me. it got here and it doesnt fit the fork on the hour. before i drill my fork, can anyone recommend a brake that will actually fit the stock fork?

yeah turns out the old caliper that i was using had a washer on it, and the washer fit perfectly into the hole in the fork, making it too small for the new brake. a screwdriver got it to pop right out.
