Which one to buy? or neither?

Should I pick up either of these to turn into a fixie? I don't care as much about geometry as durability. I want something that I can ride wherever and it it's gonna last. I was originally going to find the cheapest frame around down with horiz. dropouts but now I am thinking I should spend a little more money and get something I won't want to upgrade in a few months. Are either of these worth anything or should I wait? I thought about getting a steamroller or a new bike but I just love the classic look. Any suggestions? Italy would be nice (props to the family heritage). Thanks. Sorry for the semi worthless post.

Is it just me or does the first bike look to be quite a bit bigger than the second?

I second Enk1du. Pick the one that is your size. The first looks like it is for someone relatively tall.
