Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I was pretty proud of this, but it doesn't even come close to what you guys are schlepping around. After I got to the bike shop and boxed it up, I realized that my bag wouldn't fit around it anymore, so I had to ride to the UPS store with the box in one hand. At least I didn't need my hands to brake.

Welding is like sex. Just make sure everything is clean and go for good penetration. Of course safety is key as well.

This thread is awesome.

I'm curious though.. i havn't seen that many people carrying heavy loads on the rear of the track bikes ...

any reason why you guys are getting the front racks instead rear?

I bought a rear trailer off nashbar, but found I couldn't use it because track rear wheels do not have quick release. I was a bit bummed to find it out but then again my bag usually carries all the heavy loads
