F-ed cranks, need new, help.

So my cranks are f-ed. Thought they just needed tightening up, but no, "they're f-ed," says local bike shop. Please don't make me explain why, because I'm not sure how. They're loose even when tightened, if that helps, and getting worse all the time.

The Skinny:
The f-ed cranks I have now are Truvativ, 1.1. Naturally, I'd like to keep using my old chainring.
I don't know what the f*uck my BB is: came stock with the pista. Probably ****. Willing to replace if so, or if it allows me to pick up some other type of highly recommended crankset.

I'm not rich, but I'm also of the "you get what you pay for" mentality, thus I'm willing to go a step or two above cheap.

Help.

I'd start with the year of the Pista, then go to Bianchi's site and determine the brand of the stock components, which should help you to narrow down your options for remedying this situation.

huh ? how can they be loose if tight ? i can see square taper, loose but tight, but the truvativ ? they loosen but splines usually the bolt can be jammed on with locktite.

older truvative 1x1 crank and BB pair do have a habit of loosening up prematurely. keep a big allen wrench (or the stub of one as on a topeak Alien) handy and tighten it every ride. or red locktite it.

EXACTLY.
Four months sounds about right, too. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Just get some cheap square-taper road cranks off ebay and a new BB of the appropriate length. Shouldn't cost more than $60 together.

Truvativ 1.1 isn't square taper.

Have the same problem, but stay on tight, but a little crooked. Came loose after a day of riding and hosed the crank splines. Been looking to replace for about a year, only causes minor drivetrain noise.
