Geometry Change ?
hi i have a swobo sanchez and wanted to see if i can change the stance of my bicycle from this -
http://www.swobo.com/images/catalog/...1%20zoom-2.jpg into more of a road/track geometry ? how can i do this ? new fork ? thanks in advance... |
Uh, wait,.... what???
|
well, first you need to hit the points of intersect on the frame hard enough that it breaks and falls apart. then youll need some elmers glue, some locktight, a pinch of feces, and a smidgen of hope. then mix those up in a bowl and apply to the ends of your broken frame, then re arrange the geometry to your choosing and, viola, done!
|
I have heard of slight geometry tweaks by changing the track end angles. Of course that involves cutting, grinding, welding, and painting.
|
in all seriousness, if you really want a frame with more tight track geometry, it might be more cost effective to just buy a new frame
|
that fork is already straight and there appears to be not much tire clearance.

It is doable. Smaller rake, shorter crown-to-axle fork will steepen the angles, regretfully lowering the BB, too. You can use eccentric rear hub (ENO by White Industries or, like mine, home brew) to rise/shorten rear end, too. My MTB has very track geo with cyclocross fork, eccentric rear hub and 700c cross wheels.

throw a 650 wheel up front. or trade your frame with someone for what it is that you want.

How did you make your own eccentric rear hub?
