Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If you're going to use it for cx the funky downtube could be a problem. Otherwise, it looks ok.

Wrong. They're all aluminum.

I'm surprised they haven't been picked up by the trickster crowd because they're insanely durable (the wheels would be the only weak point on these bikes) and the all important barspin factor.

Mine's down right now, but will be back up soon. Be aware that the rear is spaced for 130mm, not 120mm, so you could potentially throw gears on it if you wanted to.

That being said, they make terrible sprinters and terrible track bikes. Their home belongs on cyclecross single speed or a commuter.

Most people have to be physically torn from their CRB's (especially the older curved kind). No one gets "bored" of them really.

I like these, they can be rebuilt into anything: fixed, free, CX, touring, commuting etc. It'll take internal gears, fenders, studs, racks, deraillers etc. If it had disk mounts it would be the ultimate chameleon. Its a good replacement for about 7 unrelated bikes.
