Is this a good deal/bike?
Fairly new to the fixed gear game and not to versed in vintage bikes. Would you guys say this conversion is a good deal? Trying to get my buddy sorted out with a bike and the price is right but is the bike crap?

For $100 it's not all that bad, i mean, if all you're doing is trying it out, it's not a bad idea to start cheap. that said, its all about the frame: is it the right size for your friend? what type of tubes is the frame made with? etc...but for that cheap, why not. if your friend ends up liking the fixed gear thing, that's when ( if i was you guys ) sell that one to someone else who want's to 'just try it out', and upgrade STAT.

the cottered cranks may give you some trouble but it looks like a decent steel frame for you to hang new components on
i think i paid 75 for a cheap singlespeed conversion on craigslist and i still love riding it
