Double Dish Wheels
If I were to buy a bike that came with a front dish wheel and no rear wheel, would it be completely crazy to put a dish wheel on the back?
I don't know if it matters or not, but the bike I am talking about specifically is a "funny bike". |

Oh, sorry, I meant disc wheel.
|
yeah, don't ride a front disc, unless you want your steering to be at the whim of the wind.
|
I'd like to see you turn a front disc wheel into a rear anyways.

Personally I think it looks ******** on the fixies you see in the pics that have a fiber wheel up front and then a spoked wheel in the back. Personally if I wanted to show everyone that I was so rich I could afford fiber I would do both. I think a disc wheel up front and spokes in the back would look even worse. But then fixies are built to personal preference and no two have to be the same so if you want a disc up front and a spoke in the back then go for it. I bet the person selling the bike has already found out how much a front disc sucks on a windy day. Thats why they are keeping only the rear one and letting the front one go with the bike.

I had a disk wheel on the front of my bike for polo and other then they occasional gust of wind its not a big deal. Ride whatever you want as long as your riding and forget what people think of you or your bike setup.
|
Polo != Real Riding. If he plans on doing any sort of tight maneuvering a front disc + strong sudden gust of wind is going to smash him into a curb or a car.
|
I'm assuming that your front is either a 650 or a 24" since you said "funny bike". With both you can source a spoked wheel and you will be happier for doing so.

Hey, sorry for the confusion, but to the people saying "do whatever you want and don't care what people think" I honestly had no intention of buying the bike unless I could pull $400 out of my butt, but even then, i already have things I have to pay for, and being 15, I don't exactly have a steady income. I was just wondering if having dual discs would be practical and not too deadly...So, "do whatever you want" wasn't really the answer I was looking for, sorry.
