Cool. Thanks.

Anybody have any ideas about the Dia Compe Bulldogs? Says they're 90 mm. Also says they're ideally for BMXs.

OKAY!
FINALLY! Here is another solution for the brake issue on this Motobecane Jury frame. If anybody orders one of these frames, which I can't say enough good things about, Dia Compe Bulldogs do fit this bike WITHOUT the use of the horsey drop bolt. Installation takes a tiny bit of finagling but I can attest that these do work. When you get the brakes, toss out the curved washers they give you, they won't fit the square brake bridge or the front fork. Then head down to your local hardware store and buy some 1/4" split lock washers—cost me 48¢. The front installs easy. The back will take a couple of slight tweaks. While you're installing it, you'll have to squeeze the pads together just a bit to get it between the seat stays. After a few more flicks of the wrench, it'll fit just fine. Then adjust your brake pads a little and you're done. There's been a lot of talk on here about the Tektro 556s which are pretty good brakes BUT, these again, fit without the drop bolt AND they are way cheaper. Grab them from Amazon. They take about a week to ship but well worth it to have a brake that properly fits the bike. Here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/Dia-Compe-Bull...1404655&sr=8-2 |

Sorry. I meant DON'T FIT without the drop bolt. Sorry.

Gotcha. I fashioned a drop bolt with some aluminum stock. I left the drop bolt that came with the frame 120 miles away and needed to put a rear brake on today. Ha!

Way to rig it.
Can't say enough good things about the Bulldogs if you need something permanent and fairly cheap. |
Finished Chrome Motobecane Jury
