Wheel question

This may sound dumb, but is higher PSI or lower PSI better (or doesn't it matter) or the wheels? I thought about it and thought "does that even make sense" just wondering. Thanks

higher psi = faster but harsher ride

Running high PSI on 700c wheels (w/skinny tires) is recommended.
Running low PSI (thumb depressible mushy tires) on 700c wheels might damage your rim.

The pressure settings are little more relaxed when you got to 26" wheels with fatter tires.

A few things to consider: lower pressures can give a smoother ride (with higher rolling resistence), yet increase the risk of pinch flats.

Higher pressure ends up with diminishing returns at the extremes--- the tires end up hopping over bumps (since they cannot deflect), which can also be a bit dangerous.

Just ride at the recommended pressure.
