Does anyone have an old 27" rear wheel they want to get rid of?

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I have my girlfriends bike set up as a single speed with this spacer kit:

She bent the wheel the other day and I am looking to get her another one. If anyone has an old 27" rear wheel that I can use my single speed spacer kit on or one with a hub that I can just thread a BMX freewheel on I would greatly appreciate it. I live in Connecticut and can paypal you the money if you have a wheel. You can e-mail me at rboarderi@cox.net if you have anything. Thanks!

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but I can't imagine there are very many 27" wheels out there that have a freehub. On the other hand, a 27" wheel with a freewheel is easy to find...and cheap. I think Wheel and Sprocket has a 27" flip flop for about $60.

Where in CT?

I'm in NW. Might go to Ikea in New Haven soon.

Im down on the RI/CT border. Pretty much any old 27" wheel I can make work, doesn't matter if it is freehub or freewheel.

I have like 3 of these in my room. They are all fairly old/not in the best condition. I live in MI, if you want to pay shipping I can find you the best one and send it out.
