i NEEED a new fork
 

tonight i was tightening the lockring on my fuji track fork on my pake frame. it suddenly was not hard to tighten. i got worried, so i unscrewed the lockring and just as i suspected, i had stripped the forks threads. the problem is there were barely enough threads for the lockring to get a good grasp on to begin with, so its not like i can really tighten the lockring on a little extra and have it fit on some lower threads. im pretty sure i need a new fork. i checked the quality bike parts site to see if they had any cheap one inch forks in stock. none. they also didnt have any black dt comp 282 spokes i need to build up my wheels, but thats another story. if anyone has a one inch threaded fork or knows a bike parts supplier or website that may have a fork i could order through ( i work in a shop so i can order through most places). ill check the parts bin at work but we only seem to have 27 inch chrome ugly ass forks. ive been eying this up for a while

its an atb fork so itd stand up to my abuse and it could do barspins so i wouldnt have to buy a new bike in the near future to do barspins and ****ty tricks with. any fork locations or advice on chancing a 5 dollar atb fork would be great

You might be able to try using the Chris King Gripnut headset. It says it works with forks with damaged threads. IDK if it will work for you because I have no personal experience with this headset. Aren't I a great writer?

would it help if you the steerer threaded down a bit more? otherwise that fork looks interesting.

+1 on threadless. The Forte Axis fork from Performance is a re-branded Kinesis (very trustworthy brand) and costs like $80. It is well-made with no really annoying logos. Get a fangled nut installed tho, don't use the ****ty expander plug it comes with.

40deg rake is pretty nice.

i did some snooping around before work today and i realized the threads that came out from the locknut, and not the fork. i , um, stole a new locknut from the shop (some old giant one with "double lock" but theres not enough threads to engage this special thing) and got it on tight and it works. but my very senior mechanic said there arent enough threads and i should et a lower stacking headset. i think i have some unnamed tange (probably passage model- 30 mm stack height) on my bike but the older mechanic suggested i get a ritchey logic (33 stack height). i put it in the order book and remeasured my stack height. i thought it was about 32. im just rambling but i guess ill get the rithcey cause its 9 bucks but if that doesnt work would it work to mill, aka file down the cups and stuff?

i have a 2001 biancha pista megapro frame and i want to get a new fork and stem set.
i want something that im going to be able to get the bars around on but i dont have a clue about what im going to need as far as tire clearance and what stem will work with the rake of the steerer tube.

i was considering a wound up carbon for just because there beyond sexy, but i dont know about the durrability of those either because i thrash my bike pretty hard.

if you have any insight then please let me know it would be greatly appreciated
