Takara fixed gear conversion. Is this a good deal?

Hi, I'm new to fixed gear bikes but really want to get one.....Found this bike on craigslist and want to know if i should go for it or let it pass.

seems a little bit high for what it is. the pedals look kinda crappy, and bizarre that there's no foot retention (clips & straps). i do like takaras though.

It's fine but not for $275.
Try and talk him down to 200, maybe 175.

my knowledge of fixies is pretty low, so if i was too talk him down and grab the bike, what kind of upgrades would i need to get?

get some toe clips and a brake. then just ride the **** out of it. no upgrading nonsense.

He says it has a Dura-Ace cog. Then he says it's a 19 tooth. Dura-Ace doesn't make 19 tooth.

This makes me a little skeptical about the seller.

Also the wheels are probably 27".

I was just going to say what ^ just said. He probably took the stock 27s and removed the freewheel and slapped a cheap cog and called it a a "Track Hub". Can't say for sure from those pictures but you're better off just using that money towards a bikesdirect windsor or Kilo.
