Saddle Recomendations
Need a new saddle, something that isn't a taint killer. Can anyone recommend something comfy but not overly plush?

i'm predicting 4 pages of "brooks for the win"

rolls ftw!!!

Uh go try a bunch. A rolls might be the holy grail for one person but an absolute ass hatchet for another. See if your LBS has a good saddle return policy.
My $0.02 though? Arione. |
I want a Rollz
|
i'll start it off: brooks FTW!
|
any tri saddle.
|
what i would recommend depends on the terrain/riding style, how far/often you are going to be riding, your price range, and your body structure.
saddles like brooks that are tensioned leather are good as they shape themselves to your butt as they break in, but they are a bit taint unfriendly in the early stages of the break in. other than that, just try out a few |
i like my regal.
|
i dont care what u people say i likey my carbon pro.
|
Brooks are nice. But the basic B-17 is heavy. the race models are a little better, but still on the weighty side.
|
Anybody like the Selle SLR?
|
Brooks FTW!!!1! but seriously...ive been a fan of the san marco ponza for a few months now

I LOVE my saddle:
http://bontrager.com/model/07138/en the website appears to be a little whacky right now with errors and such, but scroll down and you'll see the product. I have zero pain with this item. |
selle an-atomica
brooks is also probably going to make a saddle with an anatomical cutout soon--i got a prototype. it is seriously the most comfy saddle out of the box i've ever had. |
fizik ftw

Saddles are such a personal thing, everyone's built differently. Used to ride a Brooks Swift, but I've been liking racier lighter saddles recently:
I like these two-by like I mean I don't notice or think about my saddle while riding. Fixed bike-Performance forte pro slx-nice lightweight minimalist saddle, great bang for buck-can be had for around $35 if you play the coupon game. nicely made leather + ti rails, great around town haven't given it a long mileage test. Has an anatomical cutout and no embroidered graphics. After awhile you'll forget that saddle is dorky performance house brand-really is a nice saddle; think they're made by Velo enterprise. Road bike-San Marco Concor Light-great roadie saddle, comfortable for longer rides, used to be had for $59, now they're $89. Embroidered graphics suck-don't understand this trend seems like each year they raise the price and add more of the embroidery noone likes WTF. Find one on ebay without embroidery if you can, but expect to pay close to full price. |
Competitive Cyclist has a Saddle Demo Program, they will send you 11 saddles that you can ride before you buy your own.

Well. I am currently riding the Selle Italia Flite. And it is good for me.
|
I run nothing but Brooks, that said, I say find a demo program and try anything by specialized. Everyone seems to be happy with their technology.

The width is really important in how a saddle fits, cause everyone's hip structure is different
