carbon belt drive, the orange thing on the handlebar is a computer, check out the crazy drop outs. the orange is a bit much.. but that's personal preference.

Will this be a production bike, or is it just a concept ?

Yeah we already talked about this bike, argued about the belt drive and made fun of the chain(belt) guard all in one post.

Add matching fenders and reduce the Trek Brand Mega Headtube (T) (patent pending #19238721930478519) and its got potential.

other coolness from the show is this Trek District 96 pure concept bike. probably won't make it to production but damn is it sexy.

A nine foot wheel base and a 60 degree headtube will make turning that bike more crappy than stopping it.

My understanding is that it's being hyped as "the ultimate urban bike" or something like that, since there isn't a one of us city riders who find turning useful

If I were going to throw money at a company for a belt drive bike, I'd give it to spot rather than Trek.

I wouldn't ever do it though. It's a stupid concept.

I missed the earlier thread on this bike. I think it's sick. Can't wait to try one. Belt drives may be something special if the materials get right. Kudos to the designers for pushing this hard.

From this picture, the seat and head tubes look like they're 11.3 degrees. Jebus, you can eat a bowl of soup off those tubes while riding, and then take a nap.

Don't get me wrong, though, I love recumbent bikes.

i didn't even notice the head tube slanted so much.

it's nice though, it'll be nice to see a new bike by trek that doesn't have a sloping top tube.

That District 96 is disgusting.

Belt drive could be cool but I'd want to wait until it had been on the market a while.

erm, and is that front wheel on the 96 a 650?

I dunno, I'm not feeling it at all. Looks like it would be a bad ride to me...

Belt drive would be cool if they got it to work well. The moveable dropouts are a neat idea as well on the other trek

belt drives are loud, skip and the belts are expensive to replace

there's surely worse things to put on a bike, but i'm not into them personally

I don't know about belt drive, it would be annoying to have to get the gear spacing just right, without being able to make a chain longer or shorter, I see that in order to fix that they got the movable dropouts, but I doubt that would be enough. And I don't like how the tubes are so tapered, it looks like a crappy walmart mtb.
