need help choosing a new saddle
Ok currently riding the stock windsor saddle, at first i thought it was rideable and then i put in a couple more miles then i regularly did and i found it comfortable. Now however i installed new tires and could pump them up a lot more and now my saddle doesn't feel as nice. I actually don't know if the saddle started feeling worse after i changed to a higher psi or when i started carrying more items in my backpack for school. So far i like the look and heard good things about the Fizik Arione and the Selle Italia Slr. comments on these saddles please, including better versions then the normal ones or good generic versions.
ex. http://www.gottaridebikes.com/Mercha...roduct_Count=0 so far im kind of leaning toward that because it seems relatively cheap, light, and it has a touch of yellow which lets me add more yellow to my bike. lol |
a lot depends on your butt. you'd really be better off going to your LBS with this so you can try out seats and see which one fits your sit bones best.

I swear by fizik ariones and so do several of my friends. Even a friend who loved his brooks saddles is now a convert. A few female friends have liked them a lot but found that they wanted something else. My roommate tried one of my ariones and then tried a coworker's Selle Italia Slr. She rode the latter for longer because she forgot to give it back to him. After it was stolen, she bought a Specialized that is a bit wider and has the cut out. One female friend who had road race for over a decade preferred the aliante over the arione. Just today, a friend pointed out her new saddle that is similar to the arione but one of fizik's women's models. It has the wingflex that enables the saddle wings to flex a bit and adjust to your body over time but it is a bit wider. She says she loves it. Fizik does have a lot of models, from shorter mountain bike ones to the aliante (more traditional shape) to the arione, which is the longest racing saddle on the market and has more effective rail length than other saddles too.

*in before sp00ki. Joking aside, I love my old Brooks B-15. Also have a Fujitsu "Belt" leather saddle. Both were picked up for $2/each from an old dude. Not sure if I would dump the cash on a new one. |
