Another 'bland' frame

Recently painted and completed 'stock' Bianchi Pista. Hard to see, but frame is partially 'finished' with torn strips of newspaper. It's 'stock' as in the strips of paper are all stock quotes from the business section.
This is now my errand bike... it is kept at my place of business.

Considering the fact that I work for a newspaper...I say "Cool!"

That's a great idea to dress up a Pista, or any bike for that matter.

Oh yeah, thanks for supporting the newspaper industry.

Cool. Nice to see some unusual and original ideas.

trees=carbon based life
paper=fiber
your bike=carbon fiber!
and for a mere fraction of the MSRP!

Well, I chose the business section because it was the only unbiased pages of the LA Times. I normally do not read the Times because they are just too far left for me.

Jitensha_de_go....... The bar's an old ITM time trialer. I chopped about 4 inches off of each end and corked them.

Sorry about reviving this old post, but I was wondering how you fixed the stock quotes to the frame on this pista? I think I noticed in a separate post that you repainted the frame. Did the quotes not hold up? I am thinking of putting a different finish on my single speed using old pictures that I have printed on paper.

Just curious

Since the thread has been revived, i have to throw two cents in off topic:
Fixer, you _must_ be a sick boy if the Times is too far left for you.

geez, scary.

I wasn't happy with the stock prices on the bike recently since the market took a downward trend. So I completely re-stripped the frame (again), thought of simply clear coating the bare steel frame, but decided to prime it for the time being until I come up with another dress up idea.
As far as adhering newsprint on the frame, I used 3m spray adhesive. Then I sprayed entired frame with clearcoat. Not the best method, but held well.

You're an interesting one George, that's for sure. Be cool to run into you one day somewhere.

It that a Brooks saddle? It looks like a Team Professional.

A co-worker of mine GAVE me a Brooks Professional Select (probably 30 yrs old) but it needs to be "re-broken in" because he seems to have a really wierd butt! It feels like sitting on a wedge going up my rear end.

Thanks for the response. I am going to get around to posting some pictures one of these days, but I have a beater, and I am toying with a couple of ideas for a paint job. One is adhearing old stooges prints to the frame on a primer background. The other idea was a rino liner bedliner spray that has been mentioned a couple of times on this forum ( I found a guy that would do it just to see if it would work). I think I may need another frame to try both. We'll see. I will post pics someday. I noticed the beater bike string, it will probably end up there.

Thanks again.
