I want to buy a EAI Bare Knuckle!
 

I have been reading a lot of reviews and have decided this is the bike I want. I have seen on different forums different prices. anywhere from 400 to 800, currently the cheapest I can find is 735 on http://www.thebikebiz.com/Frames_s/127.htm . Does anyone know a place they sell them cheaper? My other question is sizing, which I have read up on. I am 6'0" and the bare Knuckle runs big so I was thinking 56cm, does this sound right? would like some conformation :) When I was sizing for the IRO Mark V it seemed the 59cm was the way to go, and that geometry matchs the 56cm BK. I am new to the forums :> hope This is the right place to ask these kinds of questions.

buy locally. you are going to have a much better experience buying from a shop over buying online. especially if you don't know your size. go to your local shop and ask them questions.

I am 6 1 and ride a 58 and think it is fine. It is certainkly not too big.

I'm the same height and ride the same size bareknuckle. Fits perfectly. Cockpit length is what really counts. Ignore the seat tube length and focus on top tube length.

I was gonna say the same thing. Seat tube means very little in comparison.
From my experience I think the poster will fit better on the 54 but all humans are different.

I would agree with the previous post. I am 5'11" and have the 54cm BK and I really like the length of the TT. I also own a KHS Flite 100 (57cm) and find that the TT is a bit too long. I'm actually looking to find a short stem to compensate for the stretch. The Bareknuck is the best bike I've ever owned and everyone who's riden it agrees. Go for it. You wont regret it. I recomend the 54.

I know this to be true. I have a classic Bridgestone X0-1 that is too long in the top tube.
I may sell it even though they are rare as hens teeth. Don't tell the dudes in C&V or my

Long ass top tubes are hard on your back. Go too small over too big.

jesus, when i bought my bareknuckle, it was 5 something like damn near 8. but that was 2 years ago. i would buy locally too. i didn't and got the wrong size and it was terrible. im 5'4 and got 48 and it was too big in the top tube.

I think he means, it was 500 when he bought his. And would be damned for paying close to 800 now.

Honestly, the current price for a BK is absurd. Its a great frame, but not worth it. I suggest you look at a Soma Rush which is a reasonably priced entry level steel track frame that is very similar to the BK, both in quality and design. Like the BK, its make of very nice brand name tubes, and while it has "true" track geometry, its drilled for brakes, making it somewhat more adaptable than most bonafide track frames. If I ever need to replace my BK, thats what I'm getting.

Oh. Yeah the price has gone up in the past few years. I think that this may be due, at least in part, to the shift to the Euro in Italy, where the Bareknuckle frames are made and where Dedaccaia steel is produced.

I think that it is still a good buy. Comparable in price to the Japanese frames.

I love me some BK. I wish I saw more of em' on the streets. GET ONE!!

I think ill be ordering the BK tonight, Its funny 5'11 people say 54cm 6'1 people say 58cm i am right in between at 6 even. So maybe both sizes would be fine. I am going to measure my stand over height. What would you guys think the deciding length would be. If it is larger then X then i should get 58 if it is less then X i should get 54cm. X being? =)

FWIW... I'm 6' and I screw around on my friends 56 and it feels good. I think it will fit you perfectly. Your best bet is to go to your LBS and test ride one if you can.

I have a Binachi Pista 57cm that fits my 5"11', 32 inseam old-man body just fine. So, knowing the BK runs large, I got the 56. After setting it up to fit, including some major fussing over stem length, I placed the two next to each other and, low and behold the positioning of saddle and handlebars were very similar. Of course the geometry was somewhat different but... close enough. I didnt make the mistake of buying a frame too big. ...However, after all this talk... I wonder...

5'11", 32" inseam, and a 54cm BK with 100mm stem. What you got to watch out for with the BK is the standover height, unless you track stand at every light. The bb is high, and thus the top tube is high.

I got my BK frame a tiny bit small just to allow for some stand over.
