If you believe in a heaven and a hell, and you don't tell other people about that, how much do you hate them? If you believe there is a place of eternal suffering where somebody who doesn't follow your religion will go, how much do you have to hate someone not to share your faith with them because of something stupid like social awkwardness or embarrassment?

In response to the "hipsters" repainting the roads, good for them. I agree with that act of law breaking 100%

Finally a subject I know something about. LOL! I am a Hassidic Gentile and have studies Chassidism for a few years now. I'm also a moderate Libertarian so I'm a little conflicted.

Bottom line; they can follow their faith as they see fit but the customs and laws of their faith should not cross the rights of others. It's a rich and beautiful life they live but if you're going to live in the middle of NYC you can't expect 100% isolation from the rest of the world.

Forget about painting illegal bike lanes...send critical mass through their community every month. In the summer, wear as few clothes as the law allows when riding through.

Coming back to the issue with cyclists with randy attires. ...

Actually, I have problems with pedestrians. Those office ladies with smacking tight knee-high skirts around in Tokyo. They are so tight the suit looks like the spandex outfit that Monica Bellucci wore in Matrix.

I appreciate the scenery, but I really have to focus on the road, you know?

After hearing all sides of these religious debates for more that 60 years, I have come to the following conclusion; No God-No Problem/Know God- Know problem.

Happy Holidays

Whoa, I've got my issues with Baptists, but lets not pretend a fringe cult like the WBC has anything to do with the mainstream baptist church. Baptists are like most religious people, well meaning but indoctrinated with the beliefs of a bygone era.

holding hateful signs isn't Christianity, it's a misguided something I don't even know. Nor did I say that holding a sign is what I was referring to.

I said that it's hateful not to share your faith. Those people aren't sharing it, their hating you for not having it. Big difference. But if the extent of your knowledge of true religion is what you have learned in school and from tv, I'm really not even interested in having a conversation with you about it.

Religion is mis guided plain and simple. Especially the extremes. That is why I choose not to involve myself in any religious matter whatsoever. No need for the unnecessary drama in my life.

crazyed27, you are obviously just willfully ignorant to say all religion is misguided. I would bet you have never bothered to learn a real fact about any of the hundreds of them. It's just too big a subject so you choose to make broad stereotypical statements about them all and dis-involve yourself.

"Because that's the only way such a bat-**** strict religion can survive in the modern world."

Is there any religion that isn't bat-**** nuts?

- How many people here think they can communicate telepathically with a Jewish zombie who is his own father, who can take away the evil force inside humans because a woman made from a rib was conned by a talking snake to eat fruit from a magical tree?

- How many here believe the that in the 7th Century a prophet named Mohammed was taken to Heaven by a white horse?

From George Carlin......

When it comes to bull****, big-time, major league bull****, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bull**** story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bull**** story. Holy ****!

Stryper--are you really trying to defend some idiots who pulled me aside at the tender age of 9 years old and told me I was going to hell and my whole family was going to hell?

Just like registered sex offenders have to make themselves known to the community, so should crazed religious zealots announce their homes and businesses to the neighborhood so that we can keep our children away from them. sickos. haha

Hells yeah! How about we also make them wear a badge or something that designates them as such too? Hell forget having them register their addresses. Let's put them in ghettos. Well, just until we build some camps to "keep" them in.

I'm amazed how many are rightfully complaining about loss of freedoms and rights concerning bike lanes yet they show such intolerance to other's right to express and practice their religion.

When you all are crying about the zealots be sure to include yourselves in there. Now go ride a effin' bike.
