Bike DC Makes a Comeback

Fun Community Event Open to All Cyclists

WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announces the return of Bike DC on Saturday, September 27. This popular community bike ride is open to cyclists of all ages and skill levels. It’s a ride, not a race, which allows participants to fully appreciate the adventure of cycling on car-free city streets in a non-competitive environment.

The 17 mile ride begins and ends on Pennsylvania Avenue and the route weaves through many of DC’s historic neighborhoods and passes iconic symbols of the District, including the White House and the U.S. Capitol. Riders will also explore some of Washington's lesser known treasures like the Twin Oaks estate near the National Cathedral and the newly opened Anacostia River Trail by RFK Stadium.

For complete details and to register, visit www.BikeDC.net.

The Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) is the primary beneficiary of this event. WABA's mission is to create a healthy, more livable region by promoting bicycling for fun, fitness, and affordable transportation; advocating for better bicycling conditions and transportation choices for a healthier environment; and educating children, adults, and motorists about safe bicycling.
