Yeah, it's like a sociologists wet dream show. The tribe stuff was silly. I doubt they were compensated. It's free publicity for the messenger companies featured, but yeah who knows.

"How many chicks that rap can fix a flat, I'm the best at that" lol!

andrewro 09-22-08 01:28 PM

Is that the girl with the "Fixie Rap" video on youtube?

jaysilent 09-22-08 01:32 PM

links?

andrewro 09-22-08 01:40 PM

A quick search and it didn't turn up, maybe someone else will chime in.

malpag3 09-22-08 02:53 PM

Yeah, the rapping was pretty goofy. It's not that I don't like it because she's a white girl, it's that I don't like it because I just don't like it. She should consider that option before getting angry.

malpag3 09-22-08 02:55 PM

 just saw the part where rapper fix girl said "It's really cool to be a part of something that isn't mainstream" referring to alley cats. Yeah because NYTimes write ups only happen on super underground **** man. Wake up people. Alley Cats are no longer what they were and never will be again. Sorry. I'm bummed too!

jaysilent 09-22-08 03:03 PM

messengers have their own again, sorry you bummed about it but thats the way it is, unlikely that chicka cares what you think seeing as she gets to race n them

jaysilent 09-22-08 03:08 PM

google provides all - http://www.myspace.com/sunnyd

"leave a little room ..." rap is good for all cyclists kinda funny

jaysilent 09-22-08 03:16 PM

she's already been on this board once....and won a trip to ****ing australia by racing, and ****ing ireland...no prizes like that in any of the races i've been in jealous me/

Some of it is a little cheese, but what do you expect? It's television and it's not marketed towards cyclists. You can be sure the producers wanted to play up all the usual stereotypes and themes like "talk about the danger, and the non conformity, and the conflict with drivers" and then they bump it up in production to give you what to us seems a little bit over the top.

Was kinda interesting anyway, thanks for posting the link

People in general take themselves too seriously. I dislike anyone who takes themselves too seriously.

But it literally makes me retch when messengers start going on about themselves and how great they are. Riding a bike all day makes you pretty self-absorbed. Or maybe to ride a bike all day you have to be pretty self-absorbed already. Whatever the case is, most messengers are pretty stuck-up. There's some really cool people, but that's true in all walks of life. You have people that are genuinely cool and then you have people that try to be cool but are too petty and too simple-minded to actually be cool.

The ones I know are aren't, but I don't know all of them. I believe a majority of them still do as a source of income, rather than a lifestyle choice/statement. Besides, most people take themselves too seriously when a camera is shoved in their face.

I have to agree with you, talk about being pretentious. No wonder these people are miserable, they make $20,000 per year?! I was making that when I had a massive paper route at 12 years old.

Sunny D. is completely angry at life and its no one's fault but hers, you can make a change in life. I work two jobs, have a family and going back to school.

You alright man? Seems like you're seizuring and posting like a madman ****** or something.

Show was pretty cool, was neat to see Toronto and folks that I know/have met featured - obviously it's sensationalised, but it's TV crafted for the masses.

Saw Leah this morning on my ride out to work.

jaysilent 09-23-08 09:29 AM

caps puncs grams don't matter on the internet if you in the company of the bfssfg clods so if i sound crazy its ok wit me.

i watched all 5 parts and didnt see anyone miserable sunny is angry but so what? sounds like adam is miserable, thats what happens when you see the people you see that way and then have to brag how good yu got it. the last thing any of those people b is pretentious, if u watch mash u see pretentious if u read bfssfg u see pretentious but those people were nice and sincere, hid nothing and made nothing up, just them as far as anyone watching tv can see

k thx for double rush linx i watched again it was not so bad the second time, didnt care for it on tv

jaysilent 09-23-08 09:35 AM

u see these messengers out at work on your way to work, that's cool tell them they have a few fans nxt time. bet they dont get much of that

Dude I make 14,000 a year and I'm stoked on life. People That need to make a ****load of money are pathetic. If you need cash to be happy then you need to reavaluate the way you're living.

I agree. If you have kids, $14,000 can be quite scarey, unfortunally.
