2009 Bianchi Pista

Hey does anyone know what color the 09 pista's are gonna be in addition to chrome? I'm about to buy a pista but i'm not sure if i want to wait for the 2009s.

goldfa09 09-21-08 04:46 PM

Lol well, i respect your opinion but would you mind elaborating? This is going to be my first fixed gear bike and from what i've been told pistas are good for starters.

MIN 09-21-08 04:52 PM

Pistas are great bikes (if you don't mind the cliche of ubiquity.) But really, the geometry and component specs are great for the price.

To answer your question, I don't know about the color.

goldfa09 09-21-08 04:54 PM

thanks, i appreciate it

lowkeyken 09-21-08 04:54 PM

The other color will be Blue-Jazz, same as last years. 2009 Pista retails at $750.

P.S. Go check out Bianchi USA, its updated with 2009 models.

Wow, I paid $500 in 07.

peabodypride 09-21-08 05:24 PM

jesus christ, $750 for a pista.

peabodypride 09-21-08 05:25 PM

also: what the hell does Bianchi have better to do than to take the minimal amount of work of updating the color schemes for their bikes each year? grumble grumble

neverjared 09-21-08 09:31 PM

Bianchi just picks the color. They don't make the bikes. They're subject to their frame manufacturer. The same manufacturer for a lot of companies. That make a lot bikes. That sell a lot better than the pista.

wow talk about inflation...gees.

Just because Bianchi outsources the production to Taiwan, does not mean that they do not "make the bikes," in the sense that virtually everything is made by someone else and a brand label is applied. If you're implying that Bianchi doesn't control the Pista down to the last detail, this is also false. I promise you that Maxway, or whoever makes Pistas over there, follows Bianchi's specs to a T.

I like my Chrome 08 Pista.
Got it for $520, 20% off.

sneaky viking 09-22-08 07:06 AM

I guess they were too busy trying to get a flat bar and brake levers on a Pista to pick new colors... $819 for the flat bar?! Dang.

Thetank 09-22-08 07:45 AM

Those are MSRP. It means suggested price and it will be lower, hopefully at your LBS. 08s are going brand new from local shops for around $600 but most places will haggle.

Wow, and a rear brake too? Interesting...

My $520 for what is now $750 is looking better and better. :thumb:

neverjared 09-22-08 12:11 PM

Maxway did the design. Bianchi just picked it and some colors and some decals. Nice try though.

xg43x 09-22-08 01:27 PM

Bianchi Pista's are overrated. The cranks, seat, and wheels blow. By the time you spend all the money to replace those you could have gotten a Mercier Kilo TT for 350. Replace the cranks, seat and wheels and you have a damn nice ride.

triplesixer 09-22-08 01:30 PM

No pista ever.

See, I didn't take it as an anti-gay thing. I took it as the school yard, "You're a ****! :p" type of thing. Immature, perhaps, but nothing more.

Interesting though, how people jump on perceived anti-*****exuality, while perceived satanism is okay.

:popcorn

triplesixer 09-22-08 07:45 PM

"perceived satanism"? I'm atheist dude. I'm just doing my part to piss off the religious right.
Making gay jokes, serious or not, is not cool. We all know that. There are gay members of this forum who don't go around making straight jokes.

Sixty Fiver 09-22-08 07:59 PM

Alrighty.

I am only going to come in here and tidy up once.

After this, I will expect that you keep things civil, refrain from personal attacks, and stick to the topic.

And gay jokes are not cool.

triplesixer 09-22-08 08:02 PM

You're the man Sixty Fiver.

JustinCycle 09-22-08 08:39 PM

It wasn'y anti gay, shoot I live in Hawaii. I just think the whole "I <3 BD thing and the "top name brands" (i.e. REAL companies that make a quality bike) get dissed by no name clowns simply because it's the perceived hipster cool thing to do.

I'll enjoy my $500 Pista while you guys ride no name crap.
Peace.
