not worried about weight and my deep vs are crappy deep vs (not weimann or velocity)
If you read the reviews it's apparent that these are very fragile. It almost seemed like people were buying multiple sets because they are disposable and break after contiued use. If you buy a pair you should tell us how they hold up on the street, of anyone on here has a set....let us know.
couldnt u just do the same thing with some thin plastic? lexan? like an rc car body?
yeah probably but i dont know how id bend it into a perfect disc and make it look good but from the tests run on these they perform almost as well as a true disc
yeah I'm sure it's the same stuff, but getting a cone-ish mold like that would be tough...I'm sure the mats would cost almost as much as those discs....probably easier to take a chance on the disc.
so, what is the "disc sound"? i keep reading it in reviews of disc wheels.
it sounds like a jet engine behind you supposively

540g. Might as well tape a brick to your rim and ride that around. Please don't tell me people are seriously riding this stuff.
Manufacturer: Zipp Weight: 1180 grams Price: $1475.00 and that's for a 650. The cover is $60.

Check this out.
http://www.wheelbuilder.com/thumbnai...&deep=1&cid=25 Also, can anyone how these fake disk wheels work? Do you just attach them to the spokes? |
why would anyone want a FAKE disc wheel? there are really no benefits.
I want one because I want to paint a black and white spiral on it and hypnotize people as I roll by.
But its stupid and has no benefits so I'll spend my 60 bucks on something worthwile. |
I just ordered one lol. I know there's no benefits but wth, $60 for a "disc" wheel is a steal.
I think it's a legitimate zipp alternative at the track if it *works*, but for the street it's just plain ********.
What do you do in a cross wind? It sounds like hell to ride with wheel covers outdoors.....
i'd put a crimson ghost on mine.
if it's just for looks, ok i can see that. i'm glad no was hoping for more "aero" with one of these.
