Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i have deep v's they are great. very sturdy i cant complain. i know nothing about these wheels. they are significantly less. i know i have heard good things about wienmann(i think thats how its spelled) and they are hte same price range as hte vuelta and i have heard htey are just as good as velocity.

You can get Weinmann rims and Formula hubs for similar prices. Example:
https://cgi.ebay.com/WHITE-WEINMANN-DP18-FORMULA-TRACK-FIXED-WHEELSET-MSW_W0QQitemZ350104139565QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item350104139565&_trkparms=72%3A1205|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3 A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I can't say that they are better than the Vuelta's, but Weinmann is at least a name brand. They don't mention who makes the rims in your wheelset. You'd have to add the cog and lockring to the $159 price. This is essentially what I bought for my son's fixie. Oh yeah, and the hub is f/f which may interest you - possibly more versatile, depending on what you're looking for.
