3M Reflective Tape Rim Reflectors
Been wanting to put some reflectors on my bike. Picked up some 3M White Silver High Intensity Grade Reflective Tape off Ebay. Read about this material in another thread on BF... good stuff. Bought three pieces. Once piece would be enough to make reflectors for the front and back rims.
I used some painter's tape on my rim to cut a template to measure and make up a windows meta file for use with my wife's craft cutter she uses for scrap booking(same as a vinyl cutter). My carrier sheet tack is a little low and as a result a few of the cuts went rogue so I had to cut an extra sheet of four. DOH!
This stuff is the goods - thick and the adhesive is very sticky. Don't foresee these falling off any time soon if ever without some assitance. This is thick like the stuff you see on street signs and just as reflective.
Wanted to use something that would not stick out so much if possible... this stuff blends in pretty nicely in daylight.
This stuff is a little elastic... Kinda wonder if you could just cut thin strips and walk it around the curve of the rim with a little heat(or if heat is even needed).
