I respect your opinion. My opinion is; any bike that makes you stop searching for another, is amazing. When I update the pics with my new pedals, clips & stem, I'll let you know.

As an example, here's a Fuji Track Pro from Velospace (14208):
http://velospace.org/files/fuji02-2.jpg http://velospace.org/files/fuji01-2.jpg I'd say a safe standard for the thread is to post someone else's bike you'd trade one [all?] of your bikes to have. |

I'm not interested in an argument, but I agree with the others that your bike didn't fit this thread.
It's Reynolds 653 tubing which you can't go out & buy right now if you tried. It has Cinelli lugs, with the fork option stamped "Reynolds" It has Campagnolo dropouts, stamped "Brev Campagnolo" It is fully Campy equipped (Brev Campagnolo), except for the Mavic single ring cranks which you can't find anywhere It has a vintage leather Selle Titanio saddle with ti rails Mavic Mach 2CD tubular rims, which you can't buy right now Shall I continue? Maybe you just don't appreciate good stuff when you see it. This bike will stay with me until I break it or die. |
Shut it both of you, please.

Many people look at my 1955 Raleigh Lenton fixed gear, see the horizontal dropouts and think it was a conversion.
Many do not realize that besides track bikes, many road bikes were offered as fixed gear models (with horizontal drops) and my Lenton could have also been ordered as 3 speed (for a few more pounds). http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/regnew1.jpg A few people have also commented that the brakes were wrong when they too are as stock as the rest of the bike and the bike came with a pair of them which was again, a common feature since an ss freewheel may have been used. My Lenton has a double stepped hub for a fixed / fixed set up. http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/regnewbars1.jpg http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/regnewbars2.jpg |

Worst porn ever. C'mon.

That shows your judgement is a bit askew

When it comes to porn we all have different ideas on what we do and don't find attractive.
Bris' bike looks pretty sweet and has some stellar bits and hey... it's orange. My orange bike would only appeal to some real sickos with a fetish for old French bikes. :D Besides that... STOP the sniping at one another. You should all know I don't like repeating myself and would hate to see this thread spoiled by petty comments. SF |
I may not be able to define (bike) porn, but I know it when I see it. this thread is all (bike) porn.

I'm late to this one, but your orange bike with all the campy components is quite obviously porn Bris. Don't let these haters try and say it's not...
If a ****ing Fuji Track Pro is porn, yours certainly is too. What type of frame is it? |
Still searching...
But the Reynolds 653 it buttery in all the right places. Google it & you'll see what I mean. Thanks |

For the record, I actually really like his new ride, despite it's owner. |

I just wish I had the space for more than 1 bike in Manhattan. :D That Lenton was a 1 owner bike before I acquired it and the fellow who owned it rode and raced it regularly for over 50 years... and demolished the competition despite the fact they were riding newer and shinier bikes. It is a bike I will never part with. |
BMC-
http://d.imagehost.org/0988/HPIM0839.jpg http://d.imagehost.org/0383/HPIM0846.jpg I'm pretty sure I've seen a video of the guy who owns this bike riding it on dirt trails with the disc. How insane is that? I applaud him. To hell with caring about how expensive your components are! |
|
The bike doesn't exist anymore. He was riding back from Interbike this year, a cab pulled out in front of him, and goodbye Track Machine. It's alright though, he bought another full carbon beast to replace it. Oh yea, and he machines his own hubs.
BTW, that whole video was made as a joke too |
he was making fun of the culture...
here's some pr0n http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3058/mc1qp2.jpg |
