IRO Mark V Tubing Style

Got a quick question. Are these bikes both IRO Mark V's? If yes, why do they have different style of tubetops and downtubes? Thanks!

I think the older MVs had round tubing, and I believe the MVPs still do. The regular MVs have teardrop top and down tubes.

Looking at the size of the first bike, could it be a Heidi?

Yup, I am referring to the rounded vs teardrop tubing. The first bike could possibly be a Heidi, but you can search online for other Mark V's that have the teardrop tubing. I guess I just haven't been able to figure out if it's just the newer frames that have the teardrop tubing or if it's something else I'm missing.

From my understanding, the teardrop shaped tubes are from older models of the Mark V.

The MVP and the Angus, but yeah, the MV has cable stops.

Mine doesn't have teardrop tubes and it's about a year old.

Here's an example of the teardrop tubes from an online dealer that apparently sells IRO bikes.

^^^The top bike IS an HD. My understanding is that the old tear drop tubing was(according to IRO) "Cro Mo" and the new round tubing is Dedacciai(not Deccadi like it says on the IRO site). My gf bought an HD a while back and it had the tear drop tubes. It suffered a horrible fate and was replaced(at half price but not without major hassles) by a new Heidi with round tubes.

I haven't been able to find the part on IRO's website where it says Dedacciai or Deccadi.

Go through the build-a-bike process and when you choose a frame you'll see it.

We were talking about this on Sunday...

I have a 59 MV I got about a year and a half ago and it's round tubes all the way with an aluminum head badge. A friend has a 56 MV that he got two months before me and it has a tearbrop top tube and no head badge, it just says IRO on the head tube under the clear coat. Another dude was there and he had a 56 MVP that he said he got close to two years ago and it had a teardrop top tube and some fancy head badge that was yellow and red that was some kind of painted enamel logo thing.

Just some variants to add to the discussion.

Had a Mark V about 3-4 years ago. And it was built about 1-2 years before that. Teardrop shaped tubes.

I guess I had it backwards. My MV is about two years old, teardrop, no badge whatsoever and up until it lost a fight with a dremel and some files it had cable stops.

I am confused. I got a new mark v with bottle mounts and cable stops. Does the frame use deda or chromoly tubing?
