no bianchi

bianchi is more expensive and/or more poorly built up stock than stuff that is the same exact bike. the pista is the same exact thing as the swobo sanchez. the concept is just aluminum hyped up crap.

and bianchi has absolutely horrible customer service

Huh? The OP's link was a converted Bianchi. Chrome lugged. Not stock.

Nope.

Why would you deal with Bianchi customer service if you buy a bike from a shop?

It was hypothetical...someone else might read the thread.

sky yaeger designed the pista, left bianchi when they started sucking, and designed the sanchez. same chromoly except galvanized so its corosion resistant. slightly different geo. same bike

you would deal with them if you have a problem with ur bike that the shop is not responsible for, which can happen when stock bikes are sold and there is a problem with something......want examples?

sneaky viking 10-25-08 03:41 PM

Different geo = not same bike.

Sure.

I'mFromVirginya 10-25-08 03:48 PM

the stock speedometer that came on a stock bianchi road bike sold out of a box at a shop i know that bianchi was responsible for, it didnt work out of the box, bianchi said oops too bad over the phone to the shop, the customer himself called and asked for a new one...then it showed up 7 weeks later.

not a big deal but when customers are going to whine and complain about everything it becomes stressfull and compared to other companies who would have simply sent one in the mail, they suck.

sneaky viking 10-25-08 04:00 PM

You're saying the computer was sold seperately from the bike, to a different cusomer, right? That's what 'out of a box' means?

Then they probably got a deal = no warranty. You want good customer service, don't buy gray market ****.

Even if it was the guy who bought the bike... the shop should have dealt with it, i.e. stand behind their sale, or not have put the bike out on the floor for sale with a defective part.

I'mFromVirginya 10-25-08 04:11 PM

out of box means the bianchi and everything on it came out of a box stamped bianchi and the computer was on it. it was tested before sold and worked fine. a week later it defected.

go tell the person that bought it

I'mFromVirginya 10-25-08 04:17 PM

getting back to the POINT there are plenty of better companies with better bikes and better customer service that are comparable or better, and cheaper, than bianchi

sneaky viking 10-25-08 04:21 PM

Sounded like they sold it separately as a take-off or something. Your wording was confusing. 'Sold out of a box' sounds like it wasn't assembled or something.

You're right. Bianchi should have fixed it quicker.

Also back to the point, this bike:

...with it's brand new crankset, and Deep V wheelset IS definitely worth $400. IF you don't want track geo, and appreciate Italian chrome lugged frames.

Bianchi today is not what they used to be. They're definitely running a kind of me-too operation, and relying way too much on retro colors/graphics, and there'a bit of a premium on just their name and Celeste. But the Volpe, Pista, and San Jose definitely fill a niche, whether you like 'em or not.
