What is IRO looking like currently?
Hey guys,
Has anyone ordered a frame from IRO recently? I was just curious how soon I'd get a frame if I ordered one. I'm still considering getting a Kilo TT frameset, but I've heard from a friend that an IRO would be better.
any advice is appreciated. thanks guys.

If you're just ordering a frame, we can get it out next day for you. If you're ordering a bike, it could be 1 to 2 weeks....

Aw. you guys are so awesome.
I appreciate the feedback!! I might consider getting an IRO then.
While I'm at it, are there going to be any 50cm anguses any time soon?
What about Mark V Pro's?
thanks carrie!

Thanks a lot!
We should have Angus 50's in before the end of November. As far as Mark V Pro's go, we're not sure. We usually only release them once a year but they went so fast this time we're considering releasing them again.
And I also want to thank everyone who has been sticking up for IRO. You guys are awesome!! I joined bike forums to try to make things right with everyone, help anyone I can and try and save our good name and I've been reading a lot of the threads. Without you guys, I don't know where we'd be.
I'll make sure to keep everyone posted on what's going on at IRO.

Thanks so much Carrie!!
We all really appreciate it. I certainly saw a lot of frustration with IRO on the forums a while ago, and it's really great there's someone to clear all that up. I mean, after all you guys are a smaller company and you can only do so much especially in the exponentially growing market of fixed gear/singlespeed riding.
But I'm pretty attracted to the Angus. I'd definitely love to get one in that orange too. Definitely keep us in the know once you guys get more.
The frame I was looking at was $200, but I think the extra $150 would be worth it. Both frames are reynolds 520, and the Kilo TT has a crowned fork, and they won't come until the first week in november. still deciding though.

Though I'm still riding the heck out of my Rob Roy (Fall 07 group buy) and can't get another bike just yet, I just wanted to add my 2 cents and say thanks to Carrie for the community feedback - very helpful for everyone involved.
Also a general big thanks to everyone over there at IRO - I love my bike an unhealthy amount and I can't wait to justify *cough* another frameset/bike from you guys (have to build a touring rig first
) I'm kinda glad you guys are so busy, the business thriving is great to hear (though you /should/ take a vacation if you ever do get chance
)
So yeah, thanks.

I think Carrie's answer to the Mark V pro might be the same for Rob Roy's. But I'm not an IRO employee, so don't take my word.
I think it would be disappointing to see a lack of aluminum frames at IRO however. Definitely like to see that. I forget, is the Rob Roy the aluminum frame, or the steel commuter frame?

The Rob Roy is a steel frame. The only alluminum we have is the Jamie Roy. We have discontinued the Rob Roy..sorry! It seems nobody wanted one until we decided to get rid of the frame! Same thing happened with the Highlander. It's insane trying to predict what the masses want!
But maybe this will help:
Come the spring, we will have a brand new frame called the Phoenix and it is the Rob Roy's replacement.
While I'm here I may as well ask, would you guys find and instant messenger link to me helpful? Like, say you have a question and you can't get through via phone? The phone/email issue isn't so much a problem anymore. We hired someone new to answer phones and emails so that I can get orders shipped as soon as possible. But we have call waiting and I think it's rude to put one customer on hold to answer another so if you can't get through, that is probably why. So, instant messenger?
Let me know

*doh* right. I was confusing it with the Jamie Roy. But it is hard to guess at what customers want. But I think coming here is the absolute best way to predict the demand of SS/FG riders.
An instant messenger link would be extremely helpful, no doubt. For someone like me who is usually riding, skating, or at classes I'm usually at my computer when I'm not doing those three things.
Go for it!!
We appreciate it Carrie! Keep up the great work!!!

instant messenger would work only if your employees know what they're doing. a lot of places i've called don't know stuff about their own products.

It's still kind of the down low but we basically took a Rob Roy and made room for wider tires, changed the type of brake mounts and hid some cable mounts on the bottom of the down tube in case you ever decided that you needed to run an internal gear hub.
Does this help?

Sounds neat, glad you're replacing/renewing the Rob Roy 'genre'.
Reading this made me start to spec out a Jamie Roy build (alu. winter rider) only to find they're not stocking the JR online.
Is the JR relegated to legacy as well now?

The phoenix will have straight stays. I'm really excited about this frameset.
And the Jamie Roy should be back online in the spring

Any word on the orange Angus'? I'm collecting parts with the hope that the orange will be available once I have everything. Thanks!
