pure Nitrogen also leaks out faster, as it is missing the fatter molecules of the other stuff.

opposite.

true about the 80% thing. also, the 'nitrogen' machines that they have a most garages are just air 'dryers'. the moisture in the air wont permeate the rubber and damage the belts.

anyway, i put that in my tubes. just thought i would share.

i also ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich and drank one of those nestea vitao green tea and fuji apple 10 minutes ago.

I put cola in my tubes. I use them as water bottles and the air bubbles keep my tires inflated no matter how much I drink.

I was only half-joking ("my _____ died that way!!" 4chan meme). I am happy to say that even though he is a Viet Nam vet and got cancer from being around the stuff (helicopter engine mechanic), he's fine.

I just changed the old summer air I had in my tires to some fresh new winter air. I thought about using nitrogen but decided it was a waste of time.

This came up a while back.

Some Auto racers run nitrogen in their tires because the tire pressure changes less as the tires heat up. That is important for a four wheeled racing car, but I don't think it matters to us.

That's not a bad idea. The amount of blow tubes I see at the velodrome would almost warrant testing that out for bicycles.

I know about once every 5 years or so, some major bike magazine tests helium in tires. They always find the weight difference is negligible.
