Velocity Popsicle Purple color?

Anyone have any clear pics showing this shade? I know eggplant purple has been discontinued and its a darker shade, but I can't seem to find any really good pictures of popsicle purple. All the ones I've found show it being really bright/light

Actually the color in that pic looks a bit off... I'm guessing it's the camera phone. it's supposedly suppose to look like this?

my bike

they say it's a powdercoat but I don't believe it. You can see it sort of looks like a semi transparent glaze over aluminum.

I have seen many polished aluminum parts(custom motorcycles)with candy colors powder coated over them. You still might be right though,Ive never seen your wheels. Just my 2cents.

hm, you are probably right. I know a bit about the powdercoating process but I don't know anything about special, non-solid-color coats, and basic information about it seems to be hard to get.

Anyhow, even in the velocity picture posted above mine you can see marks on the rim that go around the wheel under the purple.

Since it does not say "ano" under, I am inclined to follow their taxonomy and assume it is not anodized. But otherwise I would agree.

^ do you have any more pictures by any chance? I can't get over the fact that in photos, the popsicle purple looks nothing like the shade velocity shows... it looks a lot less deep and a much lighter shade

Would you say that in person, popsicle purple looks like the pic velocity has?

The purple, electric blue and electric red sure look anodized to me. Those are typical colors for anodizing too.

The old eggplant color was a solid paint or powdercoat. The new purple is anodized.

IMO it looks pretty chintzy and '80's retro wannabe' in person, but what do I know, I'm old and still listen to Rush.
