Broke my duck this afternoon
Finally got the balls to flip the wheel over and ride fixed today. Don't know why I was so scarred, it was the best ride I'd had in ages. Only did a couple of miles out and back because there was rain forecast and I didn't fancy getting (my bike) soaked. But I felt like I was going so much faster than normal; my average speed was 12.5mph, about normal (but I did go real slow for the first 1/4 mile or so), but spinning out at 22mph is a great if slightly scary feeling. Nearly had an off when I tried to move back on the saddle (normally just stand up a bit, but it wasn't having any of it). I can safely say the freewheel wil not be seeing much use from now on i'm off to practice my track stands.

Congratulations. Glad your first fixed ride went well. Now, sell your freewheel and buy yourself a pint or two to help with the trackstands.

Careful going over potholes etc... your first instinct will be to stop pedaling and hop, which is a bad idea... other than that, welcome to the club: get your nametag and titanium knees at the door.
