Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

hi!! new here

my name is ivan and i'm new on fixies.
i'm hoping (literally crossing my finger) to get a Pake frame but i'm still tight on a budget.
however i ran across this
https://cgi.ebay.com/2009-NEW-ROAD-RA...1%7C240%3A1308
windsor bike for fairly cheap

anyone riding windsor? what do u guys recommend? go with the windsor and upgrade the component as i go? or save for the cheese and go for Pake?

thanks in advance

Here's the site https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/trackbikes.htm
I would go for one of kilo tt preferably the pro since it has decent components that you wont have to upgrade right away. It is a lot of fun just building a bike from the frame up so i would really recommend doing that.
This is a great frame for starting out https://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ls&ProdID=1084
This is a good one too especially if you want to put some wide tires on it for offroad stuff or bad weather riding. https://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ls&ProdID=1184

Do a little searching there is tons of stuff on this site about all the mentioned frames and complete bikes

Must be hard to type with one finger crossed... unless... which finger is it?

I ride the same Windsor (same color and all) and I love it so far. I don't have any problems with noise.
