Stem height Extender vs. Angled Stem???
this is a stem extender:
http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ls&ProdID=1049 this is an angled stem: http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ils&ProdID=832 I just wanted to know what the difference would be between the two. the only thing i can think of is that with the angled stem the handle bar would be closer, compared to just my stock stem with a height extender. I have a windsor hour and everything is stock, its a 54cm. Im 5'7 and i feel a bit stretched being in the drops, so i thought with a higher handle bar position it would help. any info would be greatly appreciated. |
You posted two links to the same exact thing...

fixed. the extender is only about 24 bucks as opposed to 60 with an angled stem.

why not get a shorter stem?
|
they're both ugly, with the steerer extender being more ugly. if you're finding yourself too stretched out, maybe try a shorter stem. if that doesn't help, then maybe go for one of these stems.

well i have a bike computer and im worried that if iget a shorter stem i wont be able to fit my computer on it. anyone have any links to some good stems? i only went on bikeisland because thats where i got my brakes and helmet.

Either get a shorter reach stem, or a frame that fits.

decided to get these in 70mm. I was going to go to REI tomorrow to get a stem extender but i realized just how UGLY they look after seeing a picture of a bike with it. i also just realized how long the stock The Hour stem really is. |
