another stupid hub question
i am new to ss and am working on a 70's schwinn letour.its got the old 27 in wheels that are in bad shape,so first im going to do the wheelsets.first question, what is the spacing on the old schwinns?im thinking 126 mm.second,i was thinking surly hubs but i dont think they are for freewheels.i could use a few ideas on hubs.if i was to use a shimano road freehub can you still get the spacing they used decades ago?thanks

I'm not sure if Surly do a specicfic freewheel hub at 120mm (they do for 135mm, but it wouldn't fit a 126mm frame), but you can put a freewheel on a fixed hub, as the threads are the same. I have a 135mm one an it's beautiful, I thoroughly recommend them.
