Inexpensive Cog Update - Edge Elite

I needed some cogs for my first fixed conversion and found some at KB cylce werks. They were originally $9.99, but I see they raised the price to $12.99. I actually bought three for $25.

https://www.kbcyclewerks.com/edge-tra...ogs-p-126.html

They just arrived and I'd like to report on the cogs. TEETH:They are nicely machined, CNC cogs. THREADS; are fine - I tried them out on a new hub and they and look and feel very good. Cogs are just under 8mm and line up perfectly to my hub's 42mm chainline. I'll use a bit of anti-seize when assembling, just to be safe. HARDNESS: I'm a tool and die make by trade and without a Rockwell tester, I'd say that they are about 55-58 Rc. FINISH Matt black with lettering. Not flashy, but utilitarian.

They are more than I expected for the price and I think they'll do just fine for a fixed/ss.

Yes, edge elite cogs are solid. A step down from dura-ace, but a definite step up from stamped cogs that run a few dollars more.

Where did I get three for $25? - from KB. Originally they were listed on ebay for a "Buy it Now " price of $9.99. I emailed KB and asked how much for 3 cogs and the reply was $25. Shipping was reasonable - $5 to Canada and only $4 to the US. As I said, I noticed the price went up, but I still think they're a bargain. Solid and well made. They don't have the bling of a dura-ace cog I've seen, but I bet they work just as good. I thought I was getting a stamped cog.

They look a lot like IRO cogs to me.

No - Loctite!!! I have a LH thread lockring on my flip-flop. Just was going to use a touch of anti seize compound on the threads at assembly. It doesn't hurt when mixing hardened steel with T6 aluminum (hub).
