Travel Case
Anyone know of a good travel case? Or better yet, a diy way to travel on a plane with your bike? I searched around a bit but I only found really pricey ones online, aboiut $200+, and anyones of a reasonable price where just for shipping, which seems a bit of a waste.
I have a feeling there has to be a better way!

just took my bike to mexico. I went to a local bike shop and asked for a bike box. Took the wheels, pedals and handlebars off wrapped them and the frame with newspaper. costs nothing. I also put all my tools, pump, and other misc stuff. its about $100 flat rate so you can make as heavy as you want it.
good luck

anyone have experience with this kind of set-up on a plane? I kinda don't think its worth it if I am taking an 1.5 hour trip on a plane to ship my bike out there for an extra $100, has anyone ever tried this? I mean, even if you had to pay the extra $25 for the carry-on its totally worth it.
