Man, I know what you mean. I LOVE track drops, especially the deda pista bars. But, I've tried them so many times in the past and I just can't get comfortable on them. I don't get it. I've messed with fit and everything.

You have to use what makes you happy and comfortable... most people think my bar positions are a little odd but I'm an old geezer who doesn't gives a rats arse what people think...

Most of my drop bars are randonneur bars...they have a subtle lift at the ends before they drop and then flare out and are my favourite type of drop bar. They are really nice for climbing and accelerating from the drops.

I have some narrower straight drops on my work bike (I salvaged these) so I can get a few more inches of clearance when I am splitting lanes...

Duh...

I actually changed that stem out before the last century ride I took on the old girl and swapped the clipless for clips and straps.

I'm actually gonna use these for an urban photo contest. Hate on. I love it to death, and it came out to about $350 total.

Considering you already got the seat angle covered. I like it overrall, though if the rear wheel was the same as the front, the entire bike would look much cleaner and classier. The spokecard in the front is a bit silly. Great frame color.

Wood-grain veep, ugly stem, ugly seatpost, ugly saddle, and most of all the COMPLETELY useless top-tube "protector" which looks like a single pass of white electrical tape. That's not gonna do much to stop your bars from denting your bike, fyi.

Is this bike the one that gets all the cast off parts ? Some nice box section wheels would look great, and lose that stem / bars / grip combo you have there as it makes the baby jesus cry.

Looks like my kind of bike... it needs some bar tape to match that ass hatchet.

If Richard Simmons did acid... this would be his bike.

Sixty Fiver 01-09-09 02:20 AM

I know the pedals suck... they work cause its a coaster bike but I need some 1/2 inch pedals that will have some foot retention as I have a fixed wheelset for the bike too.

this one i just built up it has spd-sl pedals on it now.
just might sell the motta and build an audax/rando bike...but it will be hard to part with such a cool and rare old bike.

this one has the back wheel further back now that i put a different chain on and no more double straps.
