Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks for the apology, but I was kidding. It takes a lot more than the bitter complaints of an elderly curmudgeon with a "real cyclist" sized chip on his shoulder to hurt my feelings!

Fixed gear culture makes me sad sometimes.

Fyxomatosis has great photographs, but after awhile I get tired of how "edgy" and tattooed all the female models and male mechanics are. But, it is still a great site and the photo-stories are usually fun, though I often wish there were better final build close-up pictures. Plus, seeing Melbourne is fun.

Fixed Gear Gallery was a daily stop a few years ago. Now most of the bikes just make me scratch my head.
You mean...hipsters aren't cool after all?

I had never seen that site and the quality of photography is fantastic but much the subject matter is the fantasies of little boys (who will never get laid by the likes of the fems in the photos).

Oh well.
