I hear if you get rid of foot retention along with your brake you get mad zen + girlies.

in my three long years on bf this subject comes up again and again. seems to me that it is certain braked (?) riders that have something to prove:hug:

speeed 11-30-08 07:51 PM

you mean brakeless?

mperiodfresh 12-02-08 01:10 AM

i used to have a front brake, it messed up my aerodynamics. i took it off. now i fly through the streets of philadelphia (sung like the boss) and get way more fly honeys (read: babesters). i filled the hole in my fork with human lymphocytes (healing powers) and dharma (jenna elfman) and achieved zen.

yes of course I feel safer with no brakes - going very slowly! thats the whole point of brakes, you can go faster and if you keep your wits about you, its still safe. except, not as safe as going slow...

What a load of crap that is. Everyone makes mistakes, no matter how good they are or whether they have brakes or not.

I believe it should read "No brakes? NO MISTAKES!!! YOU WILL ****ING DIE!!!"

Eastspur 12-02-08 09:57 AM

There are guys here that ride brakeless and do it safe. I have too many hills on my path to feel safe without one. That and they outlawed it here. Other than that, if I lived in a semi-flat area, or even an area without death hills I would go brakeless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Idj_eKSORg8

Other than that, there is a Zen's pizza...

sorsha6 12-02-08 10:35 AM

IDEA!!!
Have a brake, but ignore it, except for an emergency!
OMG I'm a genius.

OMG!!!

you just opened our eyes

:notamused: can we end this now?
brakeless riders know the score and assume the risk. now can we all STFU about it?

I used to feel that way too. Then I got zen. Now it's like the cars just part on either side of me. I'm like Moses on a fixie.
