Tires for Weinmann DP18 Rims

Sorry for the dull thread, but I am new to fixed gears. I have an old Raleigh frame on Weinmann DP18 rims. For biking in the city, what is the best size tires for these rims? What size range of tires can be put on these rims (e.g. how wide of a tire can you put on these rims)?

Thanks

pretty much any 700c tire will work up to ~28 probably higher.

I have 700 x 23's on mine and love it. The slimmer your tire the faster you can go since you're losing less of your momentum to unnecessary friction.

I have Continental Gatorskins on mine 700 X 23. Great tires, just a little on the heavy side.

hell i can't tell a difference between a 23 or a 28 gatorskin in terms of speed, although i do find the 28 feel softer and kinda mushy. My commute didn't change length when i changed from 23's to 28's to 32's.

Also, a smaller tire reduces friction, but also because it is a harsher ride, so if your roads are really rough, go bigger and the ride will be smoother (which also means faster)

but generally i run 23's, thats what i have
