bottom bracket
i need to buy a bottom bracket for a new frame......
i know nothing about them.
what do i need to consider, as there are huge differences in some of the prices??

You need to consider what kind your cranks use (ISO or JIS square taper, Isis, Octalink), the spindle length and the BB shell length (68mm or 73mm). If this is over your head then take it to a bike shop. Once you find the right size for your needs, you have to select from the whole gamut of quality for a given size - for instance basic Shimano sqaure taper vs Phil Wood, etc.
