Question about these bullhorns

heres my kilo tt

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3135/...b25782cea3.jpg

im wondering how to take off the bullhorns off the stem just in case i ever wanna put on some risers but my stem is a SM1390 netto dynamic. it seems that the bullhorns are made of 3 parts somehow joined together in the middle.

p.s. i didnt put the bars on. the guys at the my LBS did.

thanks in adv.

uhhh, you slide them out.

just pull.

hard.

Geordi Laforge 12-07-08 10:36 PM

take the bullhorns apart and slide out the middle piece from the stem. slide the risers into that middle piece and then slide risers + middle piece back into stem.

peabodypride 12-07-08 10:38 PM

hacksaw to take apart, jb weld back together.

thats the problem..i dunno how to take the bull horns apart

iamthenoise 12-07-08 11:08 PM

loosen the stem head that holds the bars, wiggle or pull the bullhorns out to one side, be careful not to scratch the bars as you slide them out, though you probably will.

Protip: it's a joke. You take off any bar wrap, loosen the stem, and wiggle the bars out.

Thank you for my new sig Luke. I love this forum! :thumb:

edit: I don't want to sound like a jerk, but does anyone else find it disturbing that he doesn't know how take his bars out of clamps, but he's riding brakeless? Hide your children and take cover!!!

^ my thoughts about 90% of the fixie forum

bboysubhuman 12-08-08 12:48 AM

For real? You didn't think to look at the part that holds the bars(stem) to see how it is attached? And if you did, did you not see that there is a bolt? And did you not realize that you should loosen said bolt to slide the bars out? The bars aren't even wrapped which makes it even easier.

Have you figured out how to ride it yet? or are you gonna start a thread asking where to put your feet?

RB021 bars are uncomfortable as hell, they look good though

solbrothers 12-08-08 12:54 AM

i should've added more detail on my post. i think i confused alot of people here.

iamthenoise 12-08-08 01:12 AM

ohhhh i get what you're saying......the thing you think is "3 parts" is all one thing that stays together. they're al. bars right? so its the horns and a stronger center section that joins the two "horns". but this doesnt come apart. think of it as one bar thicker at the center.

axelfox 12-08-08 01:15 AM

Cut them off :)
