converting Hed 3 tri-spokes

MIN, or anyone else who have these, I have a question. If i want to take my rear HED 3 track wheel and simply make it a front, do i buy a conversion kit from Hed?

That is correct.

well i know that my hed3 rear (converted with fixxer) was too wide (* > 100mm spacing) for the hub assembly.

so i doubt i could have used that for a front wheel.

I converted my specialized trispoke without a kit.

I am not sure if a special tool is required. I tried to remove just my cartridge bearings to overhaul the front HED3 and I could not even get that out despite my best effort. I tried emailing HED about similar questions and they never got back to me so I am no help to you.

I do know that the Specialized Tripspoke and HED3 does use different freehub bodies.

i emailed HED about converting a rear to a front and they said it is not possible

it depends on the rear. i can guarantee you it is possible if it is one of the rears with freewheel threading (not a freehub).

also i've had a few conversations with HED on the phone, and they were very nice even though they never replied to emails. so if you want to contact them, just give them a call.
