Nobody races on Rev-X anymore. At least not at the pro-Tour level. Duh.

imho your bike epitomizes the type of build that is synonymous with both rev-x's and aerospokes

i've heard the 4 spoke corimas are a not so good an idea on the street. i can't point to a reference but i remember hearing something along the lines of 'my friend hopped a curb and his shattered'. it was my impression that the corimas arn't going to the the abuse a hed 3 would. that said, i have heard of 200 pound riders on hed 3's that have no problem launching curbs and wheelies without disaster.

and as far as you guys discrediting the high end wheels on the street.... why the hell do you care if someone wants to throw 700 dollars on a wheel for their hobby. fact of the matter is the carbon wheels are lighter- there's a result gained even if it's fashionable, so quit sounding so jealous.

i've never owned a carbon wheel, but based on my experience of different wheels i've used (and the rotational weight differences between them) i can completely see the appeal of the high end wheels for people who ride their bike every day.

I see your point. Those saved grams really make a difference when you're trying to sprint to the next light.

ever notice it's always the militant vegan straight edger angry white boys calling everyone hipsters? we're talking about bike wheels, and what makes one better than another, not cooler than another (although this thread is not track or road, so maybe cooler is better here).

now continue windmill floor-punching your skinny vegan arms and pray there isn't a vegan war, cuz you guys would loose. s. vegan-reich and the memphis hardliners cant shoot straight to save their lives and are too busy trying to blend islam and white-rasta or sell coke now to form a real ideology.

back to wheels:

i really like the way my spinergy tracked.. comfy in the bumps, and tracked like it was on a rail..as for on track bikes.. i bet a rear is the way to go.. for tricks, i doubt its tough enough, even though it's tensioned carbon spokes, vs the others we're talking about.. which are all solid like a wagon wheel.. im curious how those aerospoke or hed wheels feel on the rear.. anyone? since most kids like low tpi thick rubber tyres for skidding.. i imagine it's not too comfy. a high end open tubular or tufo might be nice.. or if yr frame fits a 25cc tyre.. but that's gonna cost you if you skid through yr $70 grand compes in a week and a half.

btw.. who distros grande compe tyres.. i checked qbp, merry, bti, sbs, ochner.. does eai have em? maybe somewhere cheaper? who wholesales the rubber cheap y'all?

well now that i've lost credibility by posting my bike, I really do buy into the aerodynamic aspect of the wheels. I wanted the rev-x up front cause it's got a smaller spoke profile than the aerospoke and it's much lighter. I wanted an aerospoke in the rear because it's stronger. I could have built up a nice wheel with fewer bladed spokes, but i figured once i went all tarck i might as well keep it up.

the effect is the same, i get some aerodynamic advantage. Especially in a headwind.

Do you mind telling the forum how it feels to spend 3 times on your wheelset then on your frame + comps?
just curious....

yo most components we ride around on are way overbuilt for us anyways. I think these wheels can be cool if there at least on a frame that there not worth more than, but hey its your bike. whatever

failed that criteria.

also, aerospoke + rev x is going to be obnoxious on any frame.

wow, soon balla's bike will be on bikesnobnyc like this one.

"Most profound, though, is the appearance of both a Spinergy Rev-X and an Aerospoke on the same bicycle. Notice how similar yet how different they are from each-other in their freakishness. In a strange way it's like spotting Stephen Baldwin and Frank Stallone waiting on line together to see the Bacon Brothers play."

maybe you guys could send my pic to bikesnob. I would be honored to be exploited by him. Anyway the frame and parts were somewhere just under the cost of the wheels. It's not like my bike doesn't work as a bicycle.
